What to expect after completing a Mortgage Assistance Application

We understand that financial challenges can happen, and we appreciate you taking the step to explore mortgage assistance. Our goal is to make the process as clear and supportive as possible. Below is an overview of what you can expect now that your application has been submitted.

Stay in the Know
After you have submitted your application, stay up to date on the status, outstanding documents, payments, and available options. Log in or create an account to access the Mortgage Assistance page.

Application Receipt and Initial Review
Once your completed application is received, we’ll send you confirmation within five business days to let you know it’s been received. This confirmation helps ensure you’re aware that your request is officially in process.
At this stage, we’ll review your application to make sure everything needed to evaluate your request is included. If any documents or information are missing, we’ll notify you promptly and let you know exactly what’s needed.

Submitting Missing Information
If additional documentation is required, you’ll have 30 days to submit the missing items. Providing the requested information within this timeframe is important, as it allows us to continue reviewing your application without delay. If you have questions or need help gathering documents, support is available to assist you through this process.

Application Review and Decision
Once your application is considered complete, it typically takes up to 30 days for us to review your information and provide a decision. The total timeline can vary depending on the type of mortgage assistance you qualify for and the specifics of your financial situation.

During the review, we carefully evaluate your circumstances to determine the most appropriate option to help you maintain your home, if possible.

If You’re Approved for a Loan Modification
If your application is approved for a loan modification, the next step is usually a trial period plan, which typically lasts about three months. During the trial period, you’ll make the new agreed-upon payments based on the modified loan terms.

The trial period is designed to confirm that the modified payment is sustainable for you before the changes become permanent.

Finalizing Your Loan Modification
After you successfully complete the trial period, we’ll reach out with instructions for finalizing the loan modification. This includes reviewing, signing, and returning the final agreement within the required timeframe so the new terms can be made permanent.
